Application

This machine is widely used in the rubber and plastics industry for polymer mixing applications including PVC and color master batch processing. The system consists of rolls, bearings, gap adjusting devices, electric control systems, and safety features.

Rubber Mixing Process

In the rubber mixing process, the open mill utilizes two counter-rotating rollers to extrude and shear rubber compounds. This action breaks molecular chains, ensuring uniform blending of all formula ingredients to achieve optimal mixing results. The film discharged from the roller gap wraps around one roller due to differences in surface speed and temperature between the two rollers, then returns through the rollers repeatedly to complete the mixing cycle.

During plasticizing, rubber molecular chains are shortened while elasticity is reduced. During mixing, each component surface is continuously renewed and uniformly blended. On intermittently operated open mills, rubber material passes through the rollers multiple times after feeding before final sheet cutting.
