| Highlight: | Touch Screen Digital Micro Hardness Tester,ASTM Micro Hardness Tester |
||
The HVS-1000ZCM touch screen automatic turret digital display micro hardness tester combines precision machinery with optical, electrical, and computer software technologies. This advanced instrument can test Vickers or Knoop hardness by calculating hardness values through measured diagonal inputs. All testing procedures comply with relevant ASTM and ISO standards.
This micro hardness tester is ideal for analyzing metal structures, including tiny components, thin plates, metal foils, high-quality wires, thin hardened layers, and electroplated coatings. It also effectively tests non-metallic materials such as glass, jewelry, and ceramics that cannot be evaluated using Rockwell test methods or higher test force applications. The instrument is particularly suited for examining material internal hardness in applications like induction hardening or carburizing.
Testing Process: The test involves two stages. First, a diamond indenter applies a known force to the material surface. Second, the operator measures the indentation diagonal length and inputs the reading into the computer system, which calculates the corresponding Vickers or Knoop hardness value.
Vickers vs. Knoop Testing: These methods utilize different indenters. Vickers testing requires measuring two diagonal lengths using a pyramid-shaped indenter with a square base, while Knoop testing measures only one diagonal using a pyramid-shaped indenter with a diamond-shaped base. Vickers testing follows ASTM E92, E384, and EN-ISO-6507 standards, while Knoop testing adheres to ASTM E384, EN ISO 9385, and ISO 4546 standards.
