The HV-5/10/30/50 Vickers Hardness Tester represents advanced opto-mechanical integration technology. This innovative instrument combines precision mechanical engineering with sophisticated photoelectric systems, offering exceptional reliability, intuitive operation, and user-friendly functionality. Featuring computer software programming and optical measurement systems, this Vickers and Knoop hardness tester allows users to select measurement types, adjust light source intensity, choose dwell times, and view test methods and forces directly on the LCD display. The system automatically calculates diagonal lengths and displays hardness values, eliminating the need for manual table lookups. This hardness tester is specifically designed for measuring Vickers hardness of tiny, thin specimens, surface infiltration coatings, and Knoop hardness of brittle materials including glass, ceramics, agate, and artificial gems. It serves as an ideal testing instrument for research institutions, manufacturing enterprises, and quality control departments. HV-5Z/10Z/30Z/50Z Models: Enhanced with automatic switching between objective lenses and indenters, replacing manual operation for improved efficiency and precision. The Vickers Hardness (HV) is calculated by measuring the diagonal lengths of an indent in the sample material left by introducing a diamond pyramid indenter with a given load. The diagonals of the indent are measured optically to determine the hardness, using a table or formula. This test consists of applying a force (load) on the test material using a diamond indenter to obtain an indentation. The depth of indentation on the material gives the value of hardness for the specimen. Generally, the smaller the indentation, the harder the material. Vickers hardness numbers are reported as xxxHVyy, e.g. 440HV30, or xxxHVyy/zz if duration of force differs from 10s to 15s, e.g. 440HV30/20, where: 440 is the hardness number, HV gives the hardness scale (Vickers), 30 indicates the load used in kgf.
